You shuffled quickly to your next class here whispers as you passed.
“She’s fat.” One whisper reached your ear
“She’s a loner, a loser!” another line of many reached your ears.
It pained you to know that these very lines also took away your best-friend, Alfred F. Jones.
Now he was just like the rest of them, a bully, someone who wanted to hurt you, both emotionally, and physically.
Then, you saw your classroom door. “I can make it!” You though happily before being shoved out of the way by none other than, Alfred.
You landed on the ground harshly, hearing some snickers around you. Alfred already entered but his friends, Gilbert and Matthais, were pointing and laughing, only making you feel worse.
The bell rung and you got up hurriedly not wanting to be late for class again because of thes three. But that didn’t happen. Instead you got a pissed off teacher leacturing you after class.
~timeskip~
You got home ok, but your heart was crushed.
You rushed up to your bedroom, ignoring your parents’ warm welcome home, and stared sobbing.
After a few minutes of crying and you notice a picture of you and Alfred when you were younger on your nightstand.
You sniffled and picked it up remembering this moment.
---------Flashback------
“______!!!” Alfred called.
You looked over to him and smiled a cheesy smile.
“Yes, Alfred?” You asked, walking over to him.
He patted the spot next to him. “Come sit with me.” He said
You giggled like the child you were. “OK~!” You said as you plopped down next to him.
“Hey, ____.” He said suddenly.
“Hmm?” you hummed and looked at him curiously
“Promise me, that we’ll always be the best of friends.” He said looking at you with a warm smile, your cheeks turning a little pink. “With me being the hero of course!” he added quickly with his obnoxious but contagious laugh. You giggled along with him.
“I promise, Alfred.” You promised with that special little pinky of yours.
---------End of flashback---------
You laughed half-heartily as a tear slid down your cheek. The picture of you making that promise with Alfred was very special to you.
You cried even more when you realized that he broke his promise. By becoming the worst bully you ever imagined.
You sat on your bed, and wept silently a little bit more.
~~~~~~~~~~~Over to our Special little Bully~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alfred was pacing back and forth in his room running his hands through his hair.
“Why did you hurt her again?” and “You should be ashamed of yourself.” Were the thoughts that were running through his head and have been ever since he broke the promise you guys made when at age 12.
He flopped down on to his bed with a grunt. He actually liked you, no like was an understatement, he loved you. But he had a reputation to keep; he can’t be in love with the lame, unpopular girl…
Can he?
He didn't think you were lame though. He thought you were beautiful, kind, generous, and smart.
He looked up a little to see the picture of you guys making the promise that was now broken. He gave a huge sigh before drifting off to sleep.
-----back to you------
~another timeskip brought to you by flying mint bunny~
You woke up with a yawn.
Then you paused. “Did I cry myself to sleep?” you asked yourself quietly. You shook the thought off and got ready for school.
You brushed your (h/l) (h/c) hair till it was to your satisfactory. You didn't bother to put any make-up on.
You went downstairs and had a piece of toast, then walked to school since it wasn't that far away.
Once you reached school you saw a familiar face already there, and that face belonged to none other than Alfred.
You froze and stiffened up. You didn't know what to do but then you saw another person, Arthur Kirkland, his stepbrother, and also a close friend.
They were talking, so you decided to listen in.
“What’s more important? Your reputation or, her feelings?” You heard Arthur ask Alfred.
There was a silence
You stiffened up. Were they talking about you? No they couldn't be.
“Hello there, love.” Arthur said.
You squeaked and jumped a tiny but, turning slowly to face the two.
“How long have you been there?” he asked
“I just got here.” You lied softly, avoiding his gaze.
“But I do have a question for Alfred.” You stated, a little more confident.
Alfred looked at you with a shocked glare. “What is it, dude?” he asked coldly.
“what happened to our promise?” you asked, trying to keep your eye contact.
SMACK!
Your eyes went wide and tears pricked the edges of your eyes. A visible slap mark forming “You’re no hero…” you mumbled. Then, you turned around and started running away from the two of them.
‘You’re no hero.’ Those words hit Alfred like a punch in the face, especially since it was coming from you.
That’s when he decided what was more important.
You were the most important thing in his life.
“______, wait!” he called.
You only ran faster, but Alfred caught up to you quickly and caught your wrists.
“Let me go!” you cried, struggling out of his grip.
“No, not again.” He mumbled to you wiping a stray tear off of your face.
You looked up at him with red, puffy, confused, and sad eyes. “What?” you asked quietly
“I will never let you go again.” He said pressing his lips against yours before you could say anything. You stiffened a little, but melted all the same.
He pulled away looking into your (e/c) eyes and pushed back a strand of your hair. “Look, _____. I know I betrayed you, hurt you, and crushed you, but I did it all for popularity, I never really meant it, and, I’m sorry. All I ask is for another chance. Not just as a friends, but as something more.” He said gripping your hands tightly.
You chuckled and happy tears came dripping off your face.
“Yes. Yes I would love that.” You said, giving a nice long bear hug. “Just promise me this.”
He looked at you curiously.
“Promise me you will never leave my side again.” You mumbled.
He smiled a soft warm smile. “I promise.” He said
You guys lived the rest of your lives happily, never breaking that promise.
I honestly would've just slapped him back after he kissed me, gave him the middle finger, and walked away like the queen I am. A happy ending! For me at least.
