Romano x Sick! Reader

There you were, in bed with a 103 dergree fever and spring allergies…

What a wonderful combination

You would cough and make your throat raw and sore, which, in turn, making you gain a strep throat.

You groan hoarsly and lay back down on your bed to get some rest, which you havn’t gotten much of in the past two days.

You were about to close your eyes, and drift off into a nice peaceful sleep until,

buzz buzz

You groan and pick up your phone.

You had gotten a text from your best friend/crush/nextdoor neighbor, Lovino.

“Ragazza,
You not answering your fucking phone, why the hell is that? Better have a good answer

You’ve known lovino ever since he moved to your neighborhood in 2nd grade.  He was still having a hard time with his English, so you decided to help him with his English, no matter how bad you were with it at the time. Eventually he picked it up himself, earning a few… other words in his category.  But that’s one of the things you admired.

He turned into a tsundere from the jealousy of his brother, Feliciano Vargas. He always got the attention, he said. You were always the one to comfort him.

You shake your head from the thoughts flowing through your mind, and answer the text.

“just feeling under the weather, and I can’t speak and I have a fever…
But it’s nothing to worry about.

You close your phone with a sigh. You didn’t want to worry Lovino.  So it’s best that you got some sleep.

knock knock

“Oh COME ON! Can’t I just get a little nap?!” you thought, as you answered the door.

There was Lovino. Was he… blushing? No. it just might be your sickness getting to you.

“Ciao… _____.” He said. Ok, now you were certain that he was blushing.

“Hey, Lovino…” You hoarsely replied, breaking into a coughing fit afterwards.

“W-what the hell? You say you’re a little sick in this condition?” he burst out, obviously worried about you.

You giggle half-heartedly. “Yeah, I guess I did say that huh.” You said before having another coughing fit.

“Ragazza, you should lay down.” He said not making eye-contact.

“Ok.” You said and plopping down on the couch. Lovino came in shutting the door behind him

“Ragazza, do you need anything?” he asked.

You were about to shake your head but your stomache interrupted you.

“I’ll take that as a yes.” He said smirking a little. With that he left to the kitchen. You took this as opportunity to sleep. So you closed your eyes and drifted to sleep.

You woke up to the smell of warm tomato soup, thus, making you wake up instantly. You noticed a blanket on you as well a towel with cool water. You slowly take the towel like it was a fragile piece of glass. You looked to see Lovino sleeping peacefully in the chair next to you.

You picked up the bowl of soup and sipped a little bit out of the bowl.

“mmm~” you sighed savoring its bittersweet flavor. “Lovino is such a good cook.” you thought. Then you started to finish the soup.

After finishing the bowl of soup, you felt a crap ton better.

You set the bowl down gently, being careful not to wake Lovino, and kissed him on the forehead.

“Thank you, Lovino.” You murmured, your cheeks tinting a bright pink.

“Prego idiota.” You froze, bringing a new heat to your cheeks. You looked down to see a pair of green eyes staring at you.

“I’M SORRY! It’sjustthatiwasreallygreatfulandi-mmph!” You interupted by a pair of lips smashing onto yours. You stiffened but kissed back. You pulled away to see a blushing Lovino.

You giggled. “Toni was right~. You do look like a tomato when you blush, Lovi~!”

“Don’t call me that, Idiota.” He growled, and turned to leave.

“Wait!” you called turning him around to kiss again, which he happily returend. He wrapped his arms around your haist pulling you closer.

“I love you, Lovino.” You whispered, breaking the kiss

“Ti amo troppo, _____.” He replied hugging you.

Maybe being sick isn’t a bad thing.
